As all eyes turned to Hofstra University, host of the third and final presidential debate October 15, Hofstra Law Professors held a series of teach-ins on the “Challenges for the Next President.” The series kicked off on the eve of Debate Day with a discussion on “Human Rights and Immigration Law: Challenges for the Next President” featuring special guest Yale Law School Dean Harold Hongju Koh. On Debate Day, Professors Robin Charlow and Leon Friedman presented “The Supreme Court: Challenges for the Next President,” a panel discussion. “The Economic Crisis: Challenges for the Next President,” a panel discussion, featured Professors J. Scott Colesanti, Ronald J. Colombo, Daniel J.H. Greenwood and Norman I. Silber. “Health Care: Challenges for the Next President,” a panel discussion, featured Professors Efthimios Parasidis and Joel Weintraub. “National Security: Challenges for the Next President,” a panel discussion, featured Professors Eric Freedman, Leon Friedman, Scott Horton and Julian Ku.
