Professor Alafair Burke will appear at the 3rd Annual Delaware Book Festival on November 1, discussing “Writing as a Second Career” with fellow bestselling authors Tess Gerritsen and Mary Jane Clark. Burke recently released her fifth novel “Angel’s Tip,” the second book in her Ellie Hatcher series. The book is a thriller that “offers a voyeuristic glimpse into the glamorous but dangerous world of New York nightlife,” says Entertainment Weekly. Burke’s newest suspense novel was inspired by cases that she saw as a prosecutor and from the series of tragic cases coming out of New York City. Burke will be on tour through January 2009 to publicize her book. More information about the book and Burke’s experiences as a prosecutor and writer can be found at her website www.alafairburke.com. Burke is a former deputy district attorney in Portland, Oregon. She is the author of what the South Florida Sun-Sentinel has hailed as “two power house series” featuring NYPD Detective Ellie Hatcher and Portland Deputy District Attorney Samantha Kincaid.
