Professors Andrew Schepard, Theo Liebmann Write NYLJ ‘Law and Children’ Column

Andrew Schepard, Director of the Center for Children, Families and the Law and Professor of Law, and Theo Liebmann, Clinical Professor, Attorney-In-Charge of the Hofstra Child Advocacy Clinic and Director of the Clinical Programs, had an article titled “Law and Children” published in the New York Law Journal on March 11, 2009.

Professors Schepard and Liebman discuss how the new Rules of Professional Conduct impact two common ethical dilemmas for attorneys who represent children: under what circumstances may an attorney substitute judgment for a child client; and under what circumstances may an attorney for a child client disclose confidential information to third parties about the representation.
