Professor Hillary Burgess presented at the Institute for Law Teaching and Learning conference hosted by Gonzaga Law School. The Institute for Law Teaching and Learning seeks to create the highest academic standards through curricular reform and professional development in order to prepare students to become responsible, effective, moral attorneys. This year’s conference focused on teaching skills and professionalism across the curriculum. Professor Burgess presented on teaching through experiential exercises designed to deepen students’ understanding of both the law topic and legal analysis. She discussed the topic of her current article: applying educational theory and research to teaching law by using flowchart exercises to enhance learning doctrinal topics and legal analysis.
