Prof. Hillary Burgess Presents on Creating Formative Assessment at Legal Education at a Crossroads: Assessment Conference

Professor Hillary Burgess presented Structured Peer Feedback: Creating Experts from Novice Learners at the Legal Education at a Crossroads 3: Assessment Conference held at Denver’s Sturm College of Law.

The conference focused on how to improve upon and expand upon law school assessment techniques. Professor Burgess presented on how professors can create formative assessments by structuring peer-reviewed assignments, and specifically, structure the reviewing process itself to create a formative assessment opportunity. Professor Burgess’ ideas allow for professors to create more learning opportunities for students without adding to their grading workload.
