Hofstra Law to Host ‘Exploring the American Family’ Conference

On November 3-5, 2011, Hofstra Law will host “Exploring the American Family,” an event sponsored by the Conference of Asian American Law Faculty (CAPALF) and Northeast People of Color Conference (NEPOC). Scholars will address how law, culture and society play a critical role in defining the meaning, scope and boundaries of the family in the United States.

The conference will feature two Hofstra Law School faculty members. J. Herbie DiFonzo will speak on a panel titled “Protecting the Rights of Children,” and John DeWitt Gregory will receive the Haywood Burns-Shanara Gilbert Award for his commitment to scholarship, the community and the mentoring of junior faculty.
