Prof. Andrew Schepard Presents on Ethical Issues in Child Custody Disputes at AAML and AFCC Joint Conference

Andrew Schepard, Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Children, Families and the Law

Andrew Schepard presented “Ethical Issues: Zealous Advocacy versus Best Interests of Children” at the first joint conference of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts in Philadelphia on September 16 and 17, 2011. Devised with an experienced member of the AAML and a forensic psychologist, the presentation facilitated a discussion between lawyers and mental health professionals on the ethical issues raised by child custody disputes.

Gina Choe, Hofstra Law class of 2012 and a Child and Family Advocacy Fellow, helped design the polling questions for the presentation and moderated the use of Turning Point instant polling technology software.
