Professor Norman Silber was quoted in David Evans’s pieceNonProfit in Name Only which argues that the laws of the Federal Government and the various states has made incorporating nonprofit organizations too easy, and has left these organizations “swimming in profit,” while the U.S. deals with a soaring national debt. Professor Silber, identified as a specialist in nonprofit law, is attributed as stating in effect that “incorporating into a nonprofit … became a right, not a privilege, in states across the country.”
