Susan Fortney, the Howard Lichtenstein Distinguished Professor of Legal Ethics, published an article in a symposium issue of the FORDHAM URBAN LAW JOURNAL.  This article was solicited for the symposium “Law:  Business or Profession? The Continuing Relevance of Julius Henry Cohen for the Practice of Law in the Twenty-First Century.”

In her article, “Law as a Profession: Examining the Role of Accountability,” 40 Fordham Urb. L.J. 177, 177 (2012), Professor Fortney examines various initiatives related to lawyer’s limited liability and insurance, arguing that a distinguishing feature of a profession is financial accountability.
