Hofstra Law Students Finish 2nd in 2014 National Trial Competition Regional Round

The Maurice A. Deane School of Law team of Eleni Aristodemou 3L, Aaron Spurlock 2L and Helene Weiss 1L finished second in the regional round of the National Trial Competition, held on February 6-9 at the New York State Court House of White Plains. Twenty-two teams representing 11 law schools participated in the Region 2 tournament.

Aristodemou and Spurlock won individual awards at the competition, for Best Closing Argument and Best Cross-Examination, respectively.

The team was coached by Professors Gerard McCloskey ’08 and Jared Rosenblatt ’03. Recent graduate Laura Kitchen ’12 also advised the team.

The NTC is co-sponsored nationally by the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers. The New York State Bar Association sponsors the Region 2 tournament.
