Hofstra Law Moot Court Teams Poised for Spring 2014 Competitions

During the 2013-2014 academic year, 60 students from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law are participating in moot court competitions. Fourteen of those students will be representing Hofstra Law in four events during March and April. Hofstra Law’s moot court program is headed by Professor Barbara Barron ’84, the director of Student Advocacy Programs and the faculty advisor for the Moot Court Board. She is assisted by a group of alumni who coach the individual teams.

38th Annual Robert F. Wagner National Labor & Employment Law Moot Court Competition

March 19-23 | New York Law School

The Wagner Competition is the nation’s largest student-run moot court competition and the premier national competition dedicated exclusively to labor and employment law.

The Final Round will take place in the New York Law School Auditorium on Sunday, March 23, 2014, beginning at 2 p.m. It will be also available to view via live stream.

Local law school students battle it out in Appellate Court. Sponsored by the Nassau Academy of Law and Nassau County Bar Association.

29th Annual Dean Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Competition

March 27-29 | Brooklyn Law School

Hosted by the Brooklyn Law School Moot Court Honor Society, the Prince Competition provides law students from across the country an opportunity to write an appellate brief addressing evidentiary issues in a contemporary context.

Touro Law Center’s First Annual National Moot Court Competition in Law & Religion

April 10-11 | Touro Law Center

The semifinal and final rounds of the competition will take place at the Alfonse D’Amato Federal Courthouse, directly across the street from Touro Law Center in Central Islip, New York.
