Alumnus Robert Fleischman ’85 Appointed Dean at East Stroudsburg University

In April East Stroudsburg University President Marcia G. Welsh announced the appointment of Hofstra Law alumnus Robert P. Fleischman ’85 as dean of the College of Business Management as of April 21, 2014. Fleischman had been serving as interim dean since July 1, 2013.

Fleischman has been at ESU for more than 20 years and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in sport law, sport marketing, sport business and finance, organization and administration of sport organizations and contemporary sport. In 2013 the Student Senate named him the Faculty Member of the Year.

Along with his J.D., Fleischman holds an Ed.D. in educational theory and practice from Binghamton University (2006) and an M.S. in sport management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (1995).

A member of the Monroe County, New York State and Pennsylvania bar associations, Fleischman is also a member of the NYSBA Committee on Sport and Entertainment Law, the Pennsylvania Bar Association Committee on Education Law, the North American Society of Sport Management, the Society for the Study of Legal Aspects of Sport and Physical Activity, and the Sports Lawyers Association.
