Hofstra Law’s Faculty Ranks No. 47 in Scholarly Impact in 2015

The faculty at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University has been ranked No. 47 among law school faculties for its scholarly impact in a recent study by professors at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Hofstra Law is also ranked No. 7 in scholarly impact among New York state law schools.

The study, titled “Scholarly Impact of Law School Faculties in 2015: Updating the Leiter Score Ranking for the Top Third,” U of St. Thomas (Minnesota) Legal Studies Research Paper No. 15-12, explores the scholarly impact of law faculties, ranking the top third of ABA-accredited law schools.

Refined by Professor Brian Leiter, the “Scholarly Impact Score” for a law faculty is calculated from the mean and the median of total law journal citations over the past five years to the work of tenured members of that law faculty.

Professors Alafair S. Burke, Robert A. Baruch Bush, Janet L. Dolgin, Eric M. Freedman, Leon Friedman, Joanna L. Grossman, Grant M. Hayden, Julian Ku, Richard K. Neumann, Jr., Ashira Ostrow, Alan N. Resnick, Andrew Schepard and Barbara Stark are highlighted as the most cited Hofstra Law scholars.
