Hofstra Law Grads Rank No. 24 in Midcareer Earnings Report

The Maurice A. Deane School of Law is ranked in the top 8 percent of graduate schools nationwide for the median midcareer salary of its alumni, according to the 2015-2016 PayScale College Salary Report. Hofstra Law graduates earn $138,000 a year on average at the midpoint of their careers.

The report analyzed midcareer earnings for employees with master’s, J.D., M.B.A. and Ph.D. degrees. Law school and business school graduates make up a significant portion of the top earners.

Hofstra Law is ranked No. 59 for median midcareer salary out of the 722 graduate school programs ranked in the report, and No. 24 among the law school programs.

The rankings are based on self-reported midcareer salary data from 1.4 million college graduates. For graduates in the J.D. data set, the median midcareer employee is 46 years old and has 15 years of experience.

In another study measuring career success, by researchers at the University of Minnesota Law School, Hofstra Law is ranked No. 58 among law schools for the number of alumni partners at the 100 largest U.S. law firms.

The full PayScale report is available on its website.
