Prof. Ronald Colombo Quoted in Law360 Story on US Supreme Decision Allowing State Securities Litigation

“This allows plaintiffs to stay in state courts if they really, really want to,” [Professor Ronald] Colombo said.

The ruling will also likely result in an uptick in state securities litigation overall, Colombo said, by providing plaintiffs with more certainty that their cases won’t be removed.

But Colombo and other experts also warned that the holding’s effect on securities litigation isn’t likely to be earth-shattering, calling it a “modest gift” to the plaintiffs bar.
