Prof. Julian Ku Quoted in Major Chinese-Language Newspaper’s on Presidential Candidates’ Positions on China and TPP

Julian Ku, the Maurice A. Deane Distinguished Professor of Constitutional Law, was quoted in several major Chinese-language newspapers on the positions of presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on China and the TPP.  The Chinese News Service article was republished in 24 Chinese newspapers.

Hofstra law professor Julian Ku commented, “Overall, Hillary’s performance will probably improve her support among undecided voters because at least she has a plan. Although Trump has more of an emotional connection, he lacks any specific plans.”

Hofstra law professor Julian Ku believes that the two candidates will both show a tough stand against China, but he does not think the candidates will spend a lot of time in the debate or in the campaign to discuss the TPP, the South China Sea, or other specific policies related to China.
