Alumnus Andrew Oringer ’84 Named Chair of NYSBA Committee on Attorney Professionalism
Alumnus Andrew L. Oringer ’84, a partner and co-chair of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group at Dechert LLP, has been appointed chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Attorney Professionalism.
Oringer, a leader of Dechert’s national fiduciary practice, counsels clients on their employee benefit plans and programs, benefits-related tax matters and fiduciary issues arising in connection with the investment of employee benefit plan assets.
A Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Council, Oringer is the emerging issues coordinator for the Employee Benefits Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation and a former co-chair of the Employee Benefits Committee of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association.
At Hofstra Law, Oringer serves as an adjunct professor and co-chairs the Alumni Association’s Career Services Committee, which engages in outreach to fellow alumni to identify potential internship and postgraduate employment opportunities for Hofstra Law students and graduates; promotes alumni participation in Hofstra Law’s on-campus recruitment programs (OCI); identifies alumni to serve as professional mentors for students; and participates in Hofstra Law’s career- and professional-development-related programming.
