Alumnus Michael Peterson ’96 Joins Reed Smith as Partner in Corporate Group in Philadelphia
Global law firm Reed Smith LLP recently announced that Hofstra Law alumnus Michael N. Peterson ’96 joined the firm as a partner in the global corporate group in Philadelphia. Formerly head of Morgan Lewis’ Philadelphia corporate business & transactions practice, Peterson has more than 20 years of experience representing public and private companies in a broad range of industries in complex transactional matters.
“Mike has a stellar reputation in the Philadelphia business and legal communities,” said Matthew Petersen, co-chair of Reed Smith’s global corporate practice, in the announcement. “His busy practice plays to our strengths in sophisticated M&A, private equity, and corporate finance. … Our global corporate practice is thriving and expanding. Mike will be a cornerstone of our continued growth — in the Philadelphia market and beyond.”
Peterson’s work in private equity spans his legal career, and includes long-standing relationships with many high-profile portfolio companies and funds.
