Prof. Theo Liebmann Invited to Testify to NYS Commission on Parental Legal Representation

Theo Liebmann, Clinical Professor of Law and Director of Clinical Programs

Professor Theo Liebmann, director of Clinical Programs and attorney-in-charge of the Youth Advocacy Clinic, gave invited testimony on Oct. 23 at a public hearing on the representation of parents in New York family courts.

The testimony was before the New York State Commission on Parental Legal Representation, which was established earlier this year by Chief Judge Janet DiFiore.

Professor Liebmann, who is also co-chair of the New York State Advisory Council on Immigration Issues in Family Court, testified about the need for mandated training for parents’ lawyers on immigration issues that intertwine with family court matters.
