US and Int’l Media Quote and Cite Prof. Julian Ku on Developments in US-Huawei Dispute

Since the arrest of Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of the Chinese company Huawei Technologies, on Dec. 1, 2018, in Canada for extradition to the United States, Julian Ku, the Maurice A. Deane Distinguished Professor of Constitutional Law, has been asked by numerous U.S. and international media outlets to provide analysis of issues related to the arrest and ensuing developments, most recently the Huawei suit against the U.S. government after Congress banned purchases of Huawei’s equipment.

Apple Daily (Taiwan), Feb. 18, “Three Reasons the U.S. Has Jurisdiction Over Huawei”: Professor Ku is cited in this opinion essay published on the website of Taiwan’s most read newspaper.

Voice of America (Mandarin), Feb. 25, “Alliance to Block Huawei Begins to Crack”: Professor Ku is quoted in Chinese-language media.

Associated Press, March 4, “Huawei CFO Suing Canada, Its Border Agency and the RCMP”: Professor Ku is quoted in this AP article about Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou’s lawsuit against government of Canada. The article was also carried in dozens of publications, such as the Los Angeles Times, Time and France 24.

Voice of America (Mandarin), March 5, “Huawei Reportedly Will Sue U.S. Government”: Professor Ku is quoted on VOA’s Chinese-language site about Huawei’s planned lawsuit against the U.S. government.

The Washington Post, March 7, “Huawei Sues U.S. Government in Growing Counteroffensive Against Purchasing Ban”: Professor Ku is quoted in this article about Huawei’s lawsuit against the U.S. government.
