Graduates from Hofstra University’s Maurice A. Deane School of Law who took the New York State Bar Exam for the first time in July 2024 achieved an 82% pass rate. This represents Hofstra Law’s best results for first-time takers since 2013 and a 3% increase over last year’s New York July first-time pass rate. The Law School’s combined first-time taker New York bar passage rate for February and July 2024 was 80%.
Jenny Roberts, dean of the Maurice A. Deane School of Law, praised the graduates, stating: “This is a tremendous accomplishment for our graduates that speaks to both their hard work and the quality of our program. Our goal at Hofstra Law is to prepare all our students to succeed as future lawyers, advocates, and leaders; for many of them, the bar is the first step on that journey. I am so excited for these graduates. For those who did not get the result they hoped for, Hofstra Law is committed to helping them succeed with resources and support as they study to retake the exam.“
This achievement highlights Hofstra Law’s ongoing commitment to bar exam preparation and to equipping its graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary for long-term success in the legal field.
